Sit Up!

I watched as my boy whined and complained...then finally sat himself up in the middle of his new play area!!!

For a week or so he would fall over from his seated position because he was either tired or reaching for a toy and ended up on his side. He would cry and complain that he needed to be sat back upright. I have started helping him move to that seated position instead of just picking him up and setting him down on his rump.

I remember last Wednesday when I was home with him, because he was sick, on two occasions when he woke up from his nap, I could tell in the video monitor that he had sat himself up and started playing. I think that this was because he used the sides of his crib to work his way into the seated position. So later that afternoon, I would only help him up to the seated position...he didn't like it, but we were no longer going to just pick him up. There were several times that he almost made it, but was just too stubborn and crying to do it on his own.

Well, he was complaining and I almost reached in to help him into position when he started scooting those little hands back until he was seated upright. He was still unhappy that I was standing there and not picking him up, but at least he did it all on his own...with nothing to lean up against.

We didn't take any pics today, but we got some video of him in his new play yard and taking a bath....more good blackmail material! LOL

We did get him an indoor/outdoor play fence so he can play with his toys in a much larger space and can start learning to crawl and pull up. He had a good time in it.
