Third Sonogram - 15 weeks

Went in for the Amniocentesis and they checked the baby's development prior to the procedure.
We got to see the liver, stomach, brain, kidneys, heart - all the cool inside stuff...everything looked good to the doctor.

The humorous part occurred when the doctor went to do the amnio - peanut wasn't wanting to participate again with the sonogram so we were looking down on its head and belly while the doctor was inserting the needle...we could see in the sonogram the needle come into view and all of a sudden peanut outstretches its left hand and reaches for the needle. His daddy says, "Stop that, don't play with that", and it almost looked as if it heard Daddy's voice and pulled back its hand. The doctor said that sometimes they do grab the needle.

We really wish we could get a movie of the sonogram because they seem to be much more telling - especially their movements...really cool! But this time the technician said, "I'll take these and you get the bad pictures"...we had to ask the doctor to re-interpret the sonogram printout for the one shown above. I labeled the parts that are distinguishable...kind of has its hand on its head in this shot and you are seeing the forearm clearly....well, as clearly as a 15-week sonogram can be.
